SimonsVoss changed the fundamental idea of traditional locking systems – namely the mechanical scanning of a profiled metal key in a locking cylinder. This proven technology is now 150 years old and has not changed significantly despite constant modernisation and refinement.
We believe that 150 years of mechanical locking systems is enough.
The SimonsVoss 3060 digital locking and access control system is the electronic version of a mechanical locking system. If required, the functions of a classic access control system are also available. Instead of mechanical keys, electronic transponders are used; digital locking cylinders are used instead of mechanical locking cylinders. Radio communication replaces the mechanical scanning of a key. Data transmission from the transponder to the cylinders or smart relays is inductive in the frequency range of 25 kHz. The typical reading distance is up to 40 cm for the cylinder and up to 120 cm for the smart relay.
With intelligent relays (smart relays), electronic switches can be operated depending on an authorised transponder.
All components can be networked at any time. Both wired networks (LON technology) and wireless networks (WaveNet based on the 868 MHz frequency) are available for this purpose.
The entire system can be programmed either with a programming transponder (without PC) or via a programming device, software and PC.
The inner and outer knobs of the digital locking cylinder 3060 are freely rotating and connected to the switching cam (locking cam). From both sides, the door can only be locked or unlocked with the transponder. Both knobs rotate freely. If the system receives an approved transponder signal, the external knob and internal knob are coupled in. Now the door can be unlocked or locked from the outside or inside for a short time. Cylinders are also available on request and can be permanently locked from the inside.
Transmitter, receiver and on-board computer are located in the internal knob and are thus protected against manipulation. The battery is housed in the internal knob. It supplies energy for up to 150000 locks.
The knobs are available with different surfaces to match the respective door fittings.

The access control system
On request, we can equip the digital locking cylinder 3060 with all the functions of a modern access control system such as access logging and time zone control.
The inexpensive Mobile Key System is available for small locking systems up to 20 doors and 100 persons. As the name suggests, mobile key means a mobile key. Just like a mobile phone, the key is also mobile. Your mobile phone is the mobile key. You can also open all doors remotely with your mobile phone. If you want to know more, click on MobileKey.
With the help of the Smart Relay, barriers, roller shutters, lifts and revolving doors can also be easily included in the locking plan. Here, too, operation is carried out with the same transponder that also controls the other doors. In addition, the Smart Relay can be used to create an interface to existing flexitime recording and canteen accounting systems.

The key to the future. It activates cylinder, lock and control unit at the push of a button and is no larger than a matchbox.
Technical data about the SimonsVoss transponder
The transponders are easily and quickly programmed via software on the PC/laptop, with the new G2 technology of the transponders it is sufficient to program the transponder. The entire locking plan is transferred to the transponders; after use on the cylinder, the locking cylinder receives all the information changed in the plan and thus remains up-to-date without you having to go to the doors unnecessarily with the programming device and laptop.
With the G1 technology, the cylinders still had to be reprogrammed after a change had been made to the locking system. However, the G1 system has not been available since November 2016. For customers who still use G1 components, it is possible to use the locking system with the current software in mixed operation. You don’t have to buy everything again, but you have to program the G1 components directly.

Configuring locking systems
A locking plan is set up on a PC or notebook. On a graphical user interface (under Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7/8 and 10), the desired locking plan is created in a lock-user matrix by simply ticking the appropriate box. Locks and transponders are programmed wirelessly via a connected programming device – at the touch of a button.
With the software, the structure of a locking system is as simple and clear as working with a normal write program. The status of the entire locking system can be called up on the screen at any time. If the system is networked, each lock integrated in the network can be programmed or reprogrammed via a central PC.
Locking system network
With large locking systems, the inspection of individual doors for reprogramming or for reading the access protocol can be tedious. SimonsVoss therefore offers the option of central programming of the entire locking system or individual selected doors. Almost all companies already have an internal data network (Ethernet LAN cable). An Ethernet router can be plugged into any LAN socket. In the ideal case, power is also supplied via the Ethernet (POE = Power over Ethernet). Each Ethernet router has a range of max. 30 m. This means that a range of up to 60 m can be achieved in a building with one router. The knob on the locking cylinder is replaced by a knob with transmitter and receiver. Technical term: LockNode Inside This locking cylinder communicates wirelessly with the central PC. Rooms already in use can be subsequently networked without dirt and noise. This makes networked locking systems even more cost-effective and thus more economical.
A mechanical locking system often has to be replaced after only a few years. The reason: loss of keys, wear and tear and the necessary renewal due to expiration of patent protection. Costs that are eliminated with digital locking systems.
Replacement cylinders and replacement transponders are stored on site and can be installed and programmed by the user immediately if required. Time-consuming ordering, storage and remanufacturing of keys and locking cylinders is no longer necessary.
The wear of the digital locking system 3060 is minimal. The only maintenance task is to replace the battery in the locking cylinder. This takes two minutes and is required every 4-5 years for average use.

Opening the door with a card
SimonsVoss has undergone very dynamic development since it actively entered the market. There is no other supplier in this industry that is developing its products so intensively. The SmartCard (SC) card locking cylinder and the Smart-Handle fitting, which can be operated with cards, were developed in order to integrate the card locking systems very frequently available on the market into the SimonsVoss system.
This gives you the choice between an active and passive system. With the Active system, you use the transponder to carry out the locking process. With the passive system you can simply hold a card or a key fob in front of the cylinder, which reacts and can be closed.
Both systems have the advantage that the widely used Mifare Classic and Mifare Desfire cards can be integrated into the SimonsVoss locking system. In addition, cards offer a decisive price advantage over active transponders.

Digital Smart Relay 2 3063
The Smart Relay 2 is in principle an electronic switch which can be switched via a transponder. The Smart Relay has the function of an access control reader or a key switch.
This relay can be directly networked to it. This gives you the option of assigning authorisations to transponders. The relay functions as a gateway at the moment, whenever a transponder is used on the relay, the authorisations currently stored in the plan are programmed on it. These authorisations can also be valid, for example for the next 8 hours. After this time has elapsed, the transponder must be used again on the relay to obtain new authorisations.
SimonsVoss Q3008 biometric reader
The SimonsVoss biometric wall reader gives you access to doors with your fingerprint. It can be used to operate locking cylinders, smart relays, half cylinders, lever cylinders, block locks for alarm systems and control cabinet handles. Up to 50 different fingerprints can be stored. The fingerprint reader is simply mounted on the wall without wiring, at a maximum distance of 40 cm from the lock.

SimonsVoss has already developed a professional digital security technology for the office sector that has proven itself successfully over the past 10 years. For your home, SimonsVoss now offers the new PinCode 3068 keyboard with the same level of security convenience.
The cable-free PinCode keypad enables a 3061 digital locking cylinder to be opened by entering a 4-8-digit code by radio. With its transparent ring, the ultra-flat surface-mounted device blends harmoniously and timelessly into any environment and can be used in both private and public areas. Available for indoor and outdoor use, the slim and elegant housing with its floating appearance can be attached perfectly to walls, door frames and even glass surfaces. The 3068 PinCode keyboard, which is completely wireless, combines a stable construction with powerful high-tech electronics and maximum ease of use.
Attention! For perfect function, the keypad must be mounted at a maximum distance of approx. 30 – 40 cm from the locking cylinder.
Safe and reliable:
You only need 2 basic components. Number one is the new PinCode Keypad 3068. The second component is our digital locking cylinder, in which the electronics are integrated so that the door can be opened by radio.
The extremely flat PinCode keypad can be surface-mounted without cables and adapts to any wall surface with its transparent ring. The locking cylinder can also be installed wirelessly in less than 5 minutes and fits into any DIN lock.
Our system can be extended and combined at any time for further doors.
Freely programmable numerical codes:
With the help of an 8-digit master code, up to 3 different, freely programmable pin codes can be entered. In addition, you can assign time zones, e.g. a code for your domestic help, which only opens on Mondays.
Both components are powered by batteries. The keyboard is equipped with two batteries which have a service life of approx. 10 years. A 2-stage warning system alerts you at an early stage that the batteries need to be replaced.
The SimonsVoss battery management system
With the new TN4 locking cylinder generation (technology level 4), SimonsVoss has introduced a new battery management system.
- Two standard button cells (CR2450)
- Reliable, extremely long-term suitable, proven button cells
- Very large reserve after battery warning
- Full redundancy in the event of a battery failure
- Both batteries are constantly checked by the cylinder
- Service life approx. 150000 locking operations, corresponds to approx. 5 years
Typical battery discharge pattern
Top left, the green dot shows the batteries in their normal operating state. The batteries have an energy state of 100% (new) to 25%. With a remaining capacity of 25%, the first battery warning level starts (yellow dot – top right). The SimonsVoss locking cylinder responds with 8 double beeps. In this state, the SimonsVoss locking cylinder can still be closed approx. 5000 times, which corresponds to approx. 6 months under normal use. During these 6 months you will have enough time to procure new batteries. Then the battery warning level 2 starts (red dot – bottom right).
Now at the latest you should change the batteries. There is only an emergency reserve of approx. 50 inspections or 30 days left. The SimonsVoss locking cylinder responds with a double beep for 30 seconds. The locking cylinder then goes into storage mode and can only be opened by the system administrator using the SimonsVoss programming device (Config Device).

The current locking cylinder generation TN4
At SimonsVoss, TN stands for technology level. The TN4 has been delivered since the beginning of 2007. The system philosophy behind the TN4 is as follows:
- Due to the changed market requirements and the new system platform, all cylinders will in future be free-rotating on both sides, i.e. the FD will become the standard cylinder.
- This means that extremely high numbers of actuations can be achieved.
- This makes “energy-free” continuous coupling possible.
- This system platform can be used to react to future market requirements.
SimonsVoss also offers a cylinder with button control that can be operated from the inside without a transponder.
- Firmware can be upgraded via a programming device or network, ensuring high investment security for all users.
